Accessibility Statement

We are committed to making our website accessible to everyone. This statement explains what we do to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards, what we know needs improvement, and how to contact us if you need help.

Our Commitment

Corby Pharmacy is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities or impairments. We believe everyone has the right to access health information and services online, regardless of their abilities or the assistive technology they use.

We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines are produced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.

If you experience any difficulty accessing our website or need information in an alternative format, please contact us directly and we will do our best to help you.

How Accessible This Website Is

We have designed this website with accessibility in mind. The following features are in place across our pages:

What works well

  • Keyboard navigation supported throughout
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Colour contrast meets WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text)
  • Decorative images are hidden from screen readers
  • Page headings use a logical, hierarchical structure
  • Links have descriptive text where possible
  • Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting
  • External links are labelled as opening in a new tab
  • ARIA landmark roles used on structural elements
  • Responsive design works at 320px and above
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content
  • Star ratings include accessible text labels

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party booking widgets: Some booking systems (e.g. Acuity Scheduling) are provided by external services and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with our providers to improve this and offer phone booking as an alternative.
  • Squarespace platform limitations: This site is hosted on Squarespace, which provides the underlying CMS. Some platform-level elements (such as navigation menus) are controlled by Squarespace and may have limitations we are unable to fully resolve.

Technical Information

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA:

  • HTML, semantic, structured markup
  • CSS, accessible colour contrast, focus visibility, and responsive layout
  • WAI-ARIA, roles, labels, and descriptions to support assistive technologies
  • JavaScript, used to enhance, not replace, base functionality; all core content is accessible without JavaScript

We have tested this site using keyboard-only navigation, the VoiceOver and NVDA screen readers, and automated tools including WAVE and axe. We review accessibility as part of every content update.
