Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral for a blood test?

No. Our blood testing service is a private service, you can book directly with us without needing a referral from your GP. Simply book online or walk in during opening hours.

How is the blood sample taken?

We use a simple finger-prick method with a lancet. It's quick, virtually painless, and only takes a few drops of blood. A trained healthcare professional will carry out the collection in a private consultation room.

How long do results take?

Most panels are processed by our UKAS-registered partner laboratory on a next-day basis. The Prostate Health Check and Gold Standard Health Check require 72 hours for analysis. You will typically receive your personalised results report within 3–5 working days of your test. A pharmacist will then contact you for a free consultation to discuss your results.

Do I need to fast before my blood test?

Fasting is not required for most of our panels. However, if your test includes a cholesterol or lipid profile, a 10–12 hour fast beforehand will provide the most accurate results. We'll confirm this when you book.

What happens if my results are abnormal?

During your free pharmacist consultation, we'll explain what any abnormal results mean and advise on appropriate next steps. This may include lifestyle changes, further monitoring, or a referral to your GP for additional investigation.

Which test should I choose?

If you're unsure, our Essential Health Check is a great starting point, it covers the most common biomarkers across heart, kidney, liver, diabetes, and blood health. For a complete picture, the Gold Standard covers over 150 biomarkers. You're also welcome to speak with one of our pharmacists for personalised advice.
